HOTEL NEWS Bauteil G So der Projektname für die Neugestaltung der Etagen über der Komödie, mit einer Luxus-Suite hoch über Münchens Dächern, inklusive eines atemberaubenden Panoramablicks, bis weit über die ganze Stadt, hin zu den Gipfeln der Alpen Neue Drehtüre Auch der Eingang zum Foyer hat ein Update erfahren. Seit Sommer 2016 begrüßt nun eine neue Drehtüre die Gäste des Hotels. Zeitgemäß dezent und im gewohnten Stil eines internationalen und traditionellen Grand-Hotels Bauteil G Die Planung dazu ließ Großes erwarten, oberhalb des hauseigenen Theaters, der Komödie, wurden nun mehrere Etagen abgetragen, um sie komplett neu zu gestalten. Die 29 dadurch entstandenen Zimmer sind nun wesentlich größer dimensioniert, das jetzt neue, achte Stockwerk wird zusätzlich gekrönt von einer in ihrer Art atemberaubenden Traum-Suite, die sicherlich noch für viel Furore sorgen wird. Luxus pur, denn eine umlaufende Terrasse, nach allen drei Seiten hin offen, ein offener Kamin, eine eigene Privat-Küche und ein überdimensional großes Bad mit exklusiven Spa-Charakter verleihen diesem Ensemble ein für München wohl einzigartiges Alleinstellungsmerkmal. Die Gestaltung der Räume und das Design der Möbel übernahm ebenfalls wieder Axel Vervoordt. Hotel-Impressario César Ritz soll einmal gesagt haben: „Ein Hotel ist wie eine schöne Frau, ständig verlangt sie nach neuem Schmuck.“ So gesehen ist das Hotel Bayerischer Hof die gelebte Maxime dessen. of his ideas rested in the capable hands of architect Gregor Baur. Paramount was the use of local materials – to heighten the impression that the latest architectural additions have been an integral part of the whole for decades – a continuing process which slots the premises into a natural, flowing time-frame. Bridging generation gaps was an essential of Vervoordt’s vision. This needed numerous antiques. Some were contributed by the hotel owner herself, others, such as first-edition books, by Erika Volkhardt, and several came from the estate of Johann Georg von Hohenzollern, one of Munich’s revered art historians and a leading museum curator. Hotel guests responded generously to the appeal to contribute books to the library. The passage to the adjoining alcove-annexe is decorated by ancient doors from Axel Vervoordt’s art collection. The original wall panelling was reworked by the hotel’s carpenter. The entrance of the Palais Montgelas was renovated with stucco work, a dressed-stone floor exuding warmth, and primed walls. Two large nutwood, doublewing doors greet guests as they enter the chamber which can seat 270 people when major events are on the agenda. As Innegrit Volkhardt’s primary aim was to take the Hotel Bayerischer Hof back to its beginnings, several storeys above the hotel’s own theatre, the Komödie, were demolished to make room, in rebuilding section G, for 29 new guest rooms which are particularly spacious. Not forgetting a unique de luxe suite which is sure to cause a stir in Munich. It has a spectacular terrace open on all three sides, its own kitchen and an oversized bathroom worthy of a spa. Hotel mogul César Ritz once remarked that a hotel, like a beautiful woman, “regularly needs new jewellery.” That applies to the Hotel Bayerischer Hof too.
